The ETS inspection procedure is explained in full technical detail in the ETS Annexes I and II. The main body of this chapter merely introduces the key activities, decisions and output of that workflow.

In general, there are the following phases:

  1. the LPIS ETS performs an inspection (series of observations and measurements) on items preselected by DGJRC.
  2. these observations and measurements are analyzed to come up with an item conformance statement (per reference parcel or non-conformity observation).
  3. the resulting counts of these item conformance statements are used to come up with a conformance statement for each of the quality elements indicated in the Regulation
